Abstract:
This study examines the occurrence and distribution within an existing manufacturing workforce of 15 work skills that distinguish the high-performance workplace from the traditional factory. It analyzes those skills using 10 variables (5 related to the employees, 5 related to the companies). The methodology involved a self-reporting survey. 237 employees from 18 companies participated in the study. The results indicate that the 15 skills occur commonly within the sample.
