Abstract:
The composite fermion theory is used to explore
the phase diagram of the fractional
quantum Hall effect. Quantum Monte Carlo calculations
study the energetics of several new phases of composite
fermions including bilayer states, the composite fermion
Fermi sea, and pairing of composite fermions.
